Account Settings

Manage your profile, password, and security settings

Account Settings

Your account settings control your personal profile, login credentials, and security options. You can find them by going to Settings > Account in the sidebar.

Updating Your Profile

  1. Go to Settings > Account.
  2. Update any of the following fields:
    • Name -- your full name as you want it to appear across Seleckt
    • Email -- the email address you use to log in and receive notifications
    • Phone -- your contact number (optional)
  3. Click Save to apply your changes.

Changing your email address

Changing your email address requires extra verification to protect your account:

  1. Click the email field and enter your new address.
  2. Enter your current password to confirm the change.
  3. Your email is updated immediately -- the new address is live right away and is what you use to log in. However, its verification status is reset, so the new address starts out unverified until you confirm it.
  4. Seleckt sends a verification link to the new address. Click it to mark the address as verified.
  5. A security notification is sent to your old email address, alerting you that an email change was requested. If you did not make this change, follow the instructions in that email to secure your account.

Until you confirm the new address, you will see an unverified-email banner. Verifying it simply clears that banner -- your login and notifications already use the new address.

Business Name

Your business name appears on invoices, contracts, and your client-facing galleries. To update it:

  1. Go to Settings > Account.
  2. Edit the Business Name field.
  3. Click Save.

Tip: Make sure your business name matches what your clients expect to see. If you operate under a trading name that is different from your legal name, use the trading name here.

Upload a profile photo or your business logo:

  1. Go to Settings > Account.
  2. Click the avatar area to upload a new image.
  3. Choose an image file from your computer.
  4. Click Save.

Your avatar appears in the navigation bar and on your profile. For brand-level logo settings that appear on galleries and documents, see Branding & Watermark.

Changing Your Password

  1. Go to Settings > Account.
  2. Scroll to the Password section.
  3. Enter your current password.
  4. Enter your new password and confirm it.
  5. Click Update Password.

Tip: Use a strong, unique password -- at least 12 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. A password manager makes this easy.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account. Even if someone gets your password, they cannot log in without the second factor.

Setting Up 2FA

  1. Go to Settings > Account.
  2. Scroll to the Two-Factor Authentication section.
  3. Click Enable 2FA.
  4. Open your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password).
  5. Scan the QR code displayed on screen, or enter the setup key manually.
  6. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm.
  7. Seleckt generates a set of recovery codes. Save these in a safe place.

Recovery Codes

Recovery codes are single-use backup codes that let you log in if you lose access to your authenticator app. Each code can only be used once.

  • Store them securely -- in a password manager, a printed sheet in a safe, or another secure location.
  • Do not store them in the same place as your password. The whole point of 2FA is having a second, independent factor.
  • If you run low on recovery codes, you can regenerate a new set from your account settings.

Logging In with 2FA

  1. Enter your email and password as usual.
  2. When prompted, open your authenticator app and enter the current 6-digit code.
  3. If you do not have your authenticator app, click Use a recovery code and enter one of your saved codes.

Disabling 2FA

  1. Go to Settings > Account > Two-Factor Authentication.
  2. Click Disable 2FA.
  3. Confirm with your password.

Email Verification

Your email address needs to be verified so Seleckt can send you notifications and password reset links reliably. If your email is unverified, you will see a banner prompting you to verify.

  1. Click the Verify Email button (or check your inbox for the verification email).
  2. Click the link in the email.
  3. Your email is now verified.

If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder. You can also request a new verification email from your account settings.

Deleting Your Account

If you need to permanently delete your Seleckt account:

  1. Go to Settings > Account.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click Delete Account.
  3. Read the warning carefully -- this action is irreversible.
  4. Confirm by entering your password.

Deleting your account removes all your data, including galleries, invoices, contracts, and client records. If you have an active subscription, it is cancelled immediately.

Tip: If you are unsure, consider downgrading your plan instead of deleting your account. You can always come back later. See Billing for plan management.
