Collections

Group a gallery's photos into curated, client-facing sub-sets like Ceremony, Reception, and Portraits (Pro)

Collections

Collections let you split a single gallery into curated sub-sets of its own photos — for example Ceremony, Reception, and Portraits. They give your clients a clean way to navigate a large gallery without you having to create separate galleries or duplicate any files.

A collection is just a named grouping. Adding a photo to a collection never moves or copies it: the photo stays exactly where it is in the gallery, and the same photo can belong to several collections at once.

How collections work

  • A collection groups photos that already live in the gallery — it is not an upload area and has no external contributors.
  • The same photo can appear in multiple collections.
  • Grouping a photo never moves or copies it. Your gallery's photo set is unchanged.
  • Each collection shows a photo-count badge so you can see at a glance how many photos it holds.
  • Deleting a collection removes only the grouping. Every photo stays in the gallery.

Finding collections

  1. Open the gallery you want to organise.
  2. On the gallery's detail page, select the Collections tab.

This is where you create, rename, fill, and delete the gallery's collections.

Creating a collection

  1. On the Collections tab, click New collection.
  2. Enter a title (1–120 characters) — for example, "Ceremony".
  3. Click Create.

A collection has a title only; there is no description field. Titles must be unique within the gallery.

Adding photos to a collection

  1. On the Collections tab, select the collection you want to fill.
  2. Click Add photos.
  3. In the picker, select any photos from this gallery. Photos already in the collection are shown as Added and can't be picked again.
  4. Use Select all to grab every remaining photo at once if you like.
  5. Click Add to confirm.

Photos are grouped instantly — they aren't moved or copied, so they continue to appear in the main gallery as well. Because a photo can live in more than one collection, you can add the same shot to "Highlights" and "Portraits" without any duplication.

Removing photos from a collection

  1. Select the collection on the Collections tab.
  2. Hover a photo in the collection and click the ✕ in its corner.

The photo is removed from that collection only. It remains in the gallery (and in any other collection it belongs to).

Renaming and deleting a collection

Use the ⋯ menu on a collection card:

  • Rename — give the collection a new title (still 1–120 characters, still unique within the gallery).
  • Delete — remove the collection and its grouping.

What your clients see

When a client opens the shared gallery, collections appear as section navigation — a quick way to jump to Ceremony, Reception, Portraits, and so on, all within the same gallery view.

  • Clients browse collections as sections of the gallery; nothing is delivered separately.
  • Empty collections are hidden from clients — a collection only appears once it has at least one photo. This means you can set up your sections first and they'll surface automatically as you fill them.

Tips

  • Build collections around the moments your clients care about — "Ceremony", "Speeches", "First Dance", "Family Portraits".
  • A photo can sit in several collections, so reuse standout images freely across sections.
  • Set up your sections early; they stay hidden from clients until you add photos, so there's no harm in creating them ahead of time.
