Command Palette

Find anything instantly with the Cmd+K search shortcut

Command Palette

The command palette is a quick-access search tool that lets you find anything in Seleckt without clicking through menus. Press a keyboard shortcut, type a few characters, and jump straight to what you need.

Opening the Command Palette

  • Mac: Press Cmd+K
  • Windows / Linux: Press Ctrl+K

A search overlay appears in the centre of your screen. Start typing to search.

Tip: Think of the command palette as your shortcut to everything. Once you get used to it, you will wonder how you ever navigated without it.

Searching

Type at least 2 characters to start seeing results. The command palette searches across 8 entity types at once:

Entity Type What It Searches
Galleries Gallery names
Clients Client names and emails
Invoices Invoice numbers and client names
Contracts Contract titles and client names
Quotes Quote numbers and client names
Products Product names
Templates Template names
Payments Payment references

Results are grouped by type, so you can quickly scan and find the right match even if the same name appears in multiple places.

Quick Actions

Below the search bar, the command palette also offers quick actions -- shortcuts to create new items without navigating to the page first:

Quick Action What It Does
New Gallery Opens the new gallery form
New Invoice Opens the new invoice form
New Contract Opens the new contract form
New Quote Opens the new quote form
New Product Opens the new product form
New Template Opens the new template form

These quick actions are always visible when the command palette opens, so you can jump to them even before you type anything.

Tip: The quick actions alone can speed up your workflow significantly. Instead of navigating to Invoices and then clicking New Invoice, just press Cmd+K and select New Invoice.

Keyboard Navigation

The command palette is designed to be used entirely from the keyboard:

Key Action
Up / Down arrows Move through the results list
Enter Open the selected result or trigger the selected action
Esc Close the command palette

You can also click any result with your mouse if you prefer.

Recent Items

When you first open the command palette (before typing anything), you may see recent items -- things you have viewed or worked on recently. This makes it easy to jump back to something you were just looking at without having to remember its exact name.
